Registration:
I use a number of different dog registries. If one in particular is important to you for your dog to be registered with, please let me know in advance. Please note: I do not sell puppies with breeding rights or full registration, only limited registration is offered. If you choose a puppy with registration papers you will receive your registration papers after proof of spay/neuter - see contract for specific information.
Deposits:
All puppies are reserved before they are 6 weeks old with a $300.00 deposit. Please note that all deposits are non-refundable so please make sure this is the breed for you before you reserve and pay a deposit. No puppy will be reserved and held without a deposit being paid by the purchaser. Deposits are non-refundable but are transferable to another litter with written approval by me, the Breeder. Deposits can be made by personal check but the check must have time to clear before the puppy is 6 week old. I do accept Pay Pal if you pay the service charges that Pal Pal charges us for using their service.
If you purchase a puppy over 6 weeks old I do require that you pay for the puppy in full (see reasons why under "Remainder of Payment").
Puppy Pricing: (effective 1/11/12)
I offer a few options on puppy prices, so please let me know if any of these options interest you when inquiring about a puppy.
Puppies start at $1500.00 with limited AKC or UKC registration papers.
I do offer a couple discount options and you can take both if you want to:
1.) $150.00 discount, if you want to opt out of the registration papers on your puppy
2.) $150.00 discount, if you want to opt out of the warranty on the your puppy
Choosing both options can save you $300 making the puppy $1200.00.
This is my way of saving my customer’s some money at a time when we can all use a break. A lot of new owners choose these options.
Please note: "No" papers are given with the puppies at the time of sale. Proof of spay/neuter is required to receive your registration papers on all puppies and it will be limited registration.
Shipping:
I do ship puppies within the United States. I do not ship overseas. I use Continental Airlines and I make all the arrangements for you. I charge a flat shipping rate of $425 for destinations in the United States when shipping an 8-9 week old puppy. Included in the shipping cost is the airfare, crate and health certificate.
Puppies weighing over 30 lbs are extra.
Remainder of Payment:
If you have placed a deposit on a puppy before the puppy is 6 weeks old, the remainder of the puppy price must be paid by the time the puppy is 6 weeks old. If the puppy is being shipped, any and all shipping costs must also be paid at this time. The reason we do this is to ensure that the puppy is sold. Unfortunately, if I wait too late to receive payment and something goes wrong I will have to try to re-sell the puppy at an older age and this can be hard to do. This way if the puppy price is not paid by the 6th week I have time to find the puppy another home and he/she will still be able to leave our kennel by 8 weeks old. If you do not pay for your puppy by the 6th week then I will be forced to sell the puppy to another buyer. Final Payments can be made by personal check but the check must have time to clear before the puppy is 6 week old. If you make your payment right at the 6 week point I require cash, money order or bank cashier check.
Warranty/Contract:
Please ask and I'll send you a copy!
Included with your puppy is a 1 year genetic health warranty. In regards to the warranty, I do not require that you return your puppy in the event it is found to have a genetic defect. Other arrangements are made and we can discuss this on a per puppy basis. I try to make sure all of my new owners are happy with any arrangements that are made.
Vet Visit:
I suggest that as soon as you know when you will be getting your puppy that you schedule a vet visit. Vet check ups must be within the first 3 (three) working days of the date of your contract. If you do not take the puppy to the vet within the 3 (three) working days the health portion of the contract become null and void so this is a very important appointment!
Showing Your Dog - some things you should know:
Please be aware that most of our puppies are considered “out of standard” according to the
AKC German Shepherd breed standard.
I breed for, and prefer a larger, stockier, straighter backed German Shepherd. Unfortunately, that is not how the breed standard is written in most kennel clubs. Long coat GSD’s may be shown with the United Kennel Club. If you show your puppy while he is still is young you may be able to put a title on him. Once the puppies are older they usually become too tall to fit within the breed standard and get penalized for it in the show ring. This doesn't mean you couldn't win a ribbon but you should be aware that you may be starting out with a penalty against your dog. If you were considering showing your dog seriously you may want to look at other breeders who specialize in breeding to the German Shepherd standard. Just for your information, showing your dog once it has been spayed/neutered is not allowed unless you show in a spay/neuter class. There are plenty of other activities to get involved in with your German Shepherd.
See this web site http://dogplay.com/Activities or Google “dog activities” for many ideas on what you can do with your dog! It can be a lot of fun that you and your dog might enjoy.
